| Hovenweep National Monument |
|
Consisting of five major ruin complexes or groups that spread from
Colorado into Utah, the monument is noted for its solitude, clear skies
and undeveloped, natural character. The Anasazi who built Hovenweep
are also responsible for the ruins within Mesa Verde. Camping and day
hiking permitted within the park. Hovenweep is approximately 109 miles
northwest of Bloomfield.
