The oldest Chacoan Great House in the San Juan Valley, Salmon Ruin is named for George Salmon who homesteaded the property in the late 1800's. For more than 90 years, his family protected the ruin from vandals and treasure hunters. His homestead and outbuildings remain standing near the ruin.
